Honeymoon - Traveling and Day 1ish
Our flight left at 6am on Thursday, July 18. Which means we needed
to be up at 3, out the door by 4. Not to mention we’d been to bed at past 1 the
night before. That part of the honeymoon sucked.
We flew to Dallas on one of those toy sized planes. I notice they
are small every time I board one - with the 2 small seats, aisle and another 2
seats. The smallness of the plane takes on whole new meaning when you're
traveling with a giant. Trev's knees were jammed against the seat in front
of him. The chair in front couldn’t recline at all. The head rest was to his shoulders,
so he couldn’t lean his head back at all. He can sleep anywhere, and he did
fall asleep – but in really awkward positions. When we deplaned in Dallas for a
short layover, he was in a lot of pain (he already has back problems, so this
was really not good for him).
We will be going home to Saudi in December, and that trip will be
way more intense than this measly 2.5 hour flight to Texas, so I suggested
maybe a neck pillow would help him.
This was his favorite:
We then flew on an equally small plane to Baltimore where my
amazing cousin Anna and her three wild boys picked us up. She wasn’t able to
make it to the wedding, so it was so fun to spend time with her and for her to
meet Trevor. Plus, if she’d come to the wedding I wouldn’t have been able to
spend much time with her, but staying with her for a night I got lots of cousin
catch up time.
It was so fun to talk about Grandma and Grandpa and family memories,
to catch up with her life and see her house and to get to know her boys better.
Trevor was so darn cute with those boys. He loves babies and little
kids, which is so freaking adorable. He played trains with them, played ipad
games with them… held their hands through the grocery store…
Here is Duncan wearing Trevor's shoes. It is safe to say he will never grow into them.
That night we played the wii with Anna and Grant, which was
hysterical and fun. Dancing games are awesome. Nothing like adults pulling the
couch into the kitchen to have more dancing space.
The next day we went and saw the Washington DC temple, which is
beautiful!! Then Anna took us to the Baltimore docks, where we boarded the
Grandeur of The Seas!
When we got to our door, we found this!
Which we left up the entire time, because Trevor said we should.
Every time the room people saw us or we left/came to the room, they'd always smile and say "having fun!?" and wink at Trevor or something. It made going into the room awkward. Every.Single.Time.
Plus people would just tell us congrats when they'd see us in the hall, or I even heard people yell "CONGRATULATIONS" while passing our door.
A couple people saw us coming one day, and said every time they passed our door they wanted to knock and yell just in case, but decided against it...
While embarrassing, it did make for more entertainment and memories.
Inside we found all this:
Which we also left up the entire cruise. Even though Trevor hit his head on all the decorations. It was worth it.
We walked around the ship, sat on the deck...
Went to their opening show:
Ate fresh sushi!
(One of my biggest complaints against Trevor is he didn't like sushi. Well, I've turned him! He now likes it! YES! I can't tell you how happy that makes me.
The sushi was not only amazing, but the fish was so fresh.
This is the Centrum, the main area of the ship.
And we found swans on our bed when we came back.
Not gunna lie, awesome day. Honeymoons are basically the best thing ever.
Love,
Brittney (and Trevor)
