Facebook - It's Official!
Nothing is official these days unless it's Facebook official.
It's kind of a right of passage, getting to change your name on Facebook. Why does that seem more legit than my Drivers License? Maybe I have a problem.
I wrote earlier about my struggles with changing my name. I've since gotten used to the idea, and I'm actually really excited that I am now Brittney Schauerhamer.
There are always parts in anyone's past they'd rather forget. Things done, mistakes made, the person you used to be, etc.
I get to be a different person now. I am no longer Brittney Johnson, I'm Brittney Schauerhamer. New people I meet will never associate me with my maiden name. Yeah, weird.
But, also liberating. I can be whoever I want to be. I get to leave the insecurities, mistakes, associations I have as Brittney Johnson and allow myself to become a better version of me, a newer version of me. I'm so excited.
When I look at my name, I know that there is an amazing man who loves me more than I can comprehend, who took me to the temple to be sealed to me for time and eternity. That we are a family.
Love,
Brittney
