Carpooling
I joined my very first work carpool. I'm not sure how well I like it, yet. I gain 20 minutes in my commute a day – which equates to less sleep. And I need all the sleep I can get… In case anyone is wondering – my office has been moved from downtown Salt Lake City to Riverton. Riverton! What's in Riverton? Nothin', I tell you – least of all my house. So now I have a 30 minute commute a day, one way. The carpool helps with gas, and is less boring… but it takes 20 more minutes one way than it takes me if I drive straight from my house.
So yesterday I had to be somewhere at 6 – which means if I left work at 5, I wouldn't have any time to run home and change out of my dress. So I got on our office Communicator, found my carpooling buddy (there were just 2 of us that day) Jason Rice, and messaged him. Below is our conversation:
Brittney Deann Johnson [4:04 PM]:
So would you want to leave a little bit earlier today?
Jason Rice [4:07 PM]:
I think you may have the wrong person
Brittney Deann Johnson [4:08 PM]:
Umm... were you getting a ride home with someone else today?
Jason Rice [4:09 PM]:
Let me be honest - I don't know who you are. My name is Jason Rice and I work on the 6th floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building
Brittney Deann Johnson [4:09 PM]:
Haha... I'm so sorry
There is an intern, Jason Rice who works in ICS and we carpool
Jason Rice [4:09 PM]:
np
With that name, he must be a good guy!
Brittney Deann Johnson [4:10 PM]:
He is a nice guy... I'm so sorry.... You can stay as late as you want!
Jason Rice [4:10 PM]:
can I go early anyway?
Brittney Deann Johnson [4:10 PM]:
Have at it! As long as you get all your work done!
Jason Rice [4:11 PM]:
I am hurrying as fast a I can
HAHAHA…. I laughed so hard. How embarrassing. Apparently, there are 2 Jason Rice's working for the Church…
Another funny thing someone showed me…

I laughed so hard I could hardly breathe… you've got to listen to it to the very end. So worth every second.
Love,
Brittney
