Sunday Stroll

We had stake conference and it ended at 12, and it was a BEAUTIFUL DAY. Starting to feel more like fall. Not too hot, but very sunny.

So we decided after church to go on a Sunday stroll in the mountains. Last year I took Lacey up to Donut Falls in Big Cottonwood Canyon, and it's beautiful and an easy hike so we decided to go there.

It's about 9 miles up the canyon - which made for a long and beautiful drive with the windows down (we were stuck behind the SLOWEST car, so it was a really long drive for only 9 miles).

We parked and had a snack, then walked up to the falls. We played around on the rocks and both got our shoes soaking wet, but it's fun to let your inner child out sometimes.

I feel so blessed to live in such a beautiful place. Where hikes like this are so close and accessible. 

It was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon, walking hand in hand through the mountains, next to a stream. It smelled SO GOOD it's unbelievable. One of my favorite things about being in the mountains - how good it smells.
