Labor Day Weekend

This weekend was seriously the best.

Friday after work, we picked Lacey and Rozlyn up for a special sleepover at our house. We went and got pizza and then went to a movie in the park, Hotel Transylvania (such a good movie!). It was one of those perfect nights. Lying there under the starts, watching a cute wholesome movie, snuggled in Trevor’s arms with the girls right there, and breathing in the fresh air.

We stopped on the way home and got ice-cream, and then played Minecraft for way too long. The girls definitely went to bed too late. It was so cute watching Trevor play with them though.

Saturday we woke up, the girls played more Minecraft, Trevor made us waffles and then we went to   a trampoline jump place (Wairhouse) in SLC. I got a Groupon for it so it was way cheap – but not as nice as Airborne, where I usually go.

It was much smaller and less to do – but on the bright side – it was practically empty so we really had most of it to ourselves. We played all sorts of tag which was so much fun – but exhausting.

We left hot and sweaty and tired and went to Grandma and Grandpa Orr’s for Roslyn’s swimming birthday party.

It was fun to see everyone there and the kids had a great time.

We left, dropped Lacey off at home and got dinner. We came home and played Minecraft until way too late (this is the first time I’d played it – the girls had been playing it before with Trevor. So I was trying to learn. Trev grew up playing video games, and the only video game I know is Nintendo’s Donkey Kong. I don’t even know how to use a controller other than the flat Nintendo one. Since Trev enjoys gaming, I wanted to find games we could play together).

Sunday we went to church, which was awesome. We like our new ward. We’ve been called as ward missionaries, and Trevor gave the lesson in Sunday school (Gospel essentials – for investigators and new members so we teach it).

After church we drove to Park City for our weekend get away! We were so excited we could barely stand it.

We checked into our hotel and decided to walk around Park City. We were in the old area – so in the mountains back by Main Street.

We had no idea where we were going, we just started walking, hand in hand. It was so beautiful! The colors are starting to come out, and there was rain in the air so everything smelled incredible.

We came upon a bike/walking trail with underground bridges, which we appreciated.

And these interesting fish art sculptures.

We came upon a sign saying Main Street was straight ahead, so we kept going. We started to hear loud music, and kept going up the hill towards it – and we came upon the Park City Sunday market. We didn’t even know it was going on. There were tons of people, tons of cool art/things for sale, music… it was so fun to walk up Main Street and enjoy the ambiance.

We walked probably around 2 miles or more – uphill – and were getting pretty hungry. We stopped at a place where we could sit at the upstairs balcony. We had an incredible view of the whole area, including Main Street.

We ate and then began our walk back. It started to rain right as we were reaching the hotel – perfect timing!

We wondered around the hotel and then watched a movie.

The next morning we checked out, then came back to our apartment to clean/organize. Trevor bought nails and hung all our pictures up! It looks AMAZING. Seriously – he did such an incredible job.

It’s so fun for our apartment to FINALLY start feeling like a home, instead of a messy, unorganized pile of stuff.

We worked hard all day and got a ton done. Then Trev made us dinner while we watched “New Girl”.

Honestly, best weekend ever!!!! It was so fun to be with the girls (or as Trev calls it – birth control) and then our getaway to Park City was so needed! It was only a night, but since we were in a hotel and out of SLC, it really felt like we were away. It was fun to leave our phones away, and just enjoy quality time together.

Love,
Brittney
