Twins - 10 months old!
Once again, I feel like this month they have made SO MUCH PROGRESS!! I am in awe of these crazy, amazing, perfect little stinkers!
Savannah
Oh, what a delight she is!!! This girl is seriously our little angel baby. She is so delightful and fun. She is starting to jabber all the time!!! I can barely contain myself when she jabbers. I just want to kiss her cheeks all day long. Seriously. I have a problem. She usually says "ba".
She screams (happy screams), jabbers, yells and smiles all day long. She is so fun. She is starting to really love to be played with. She loves peek-a-boo, singing songs (the favorite this month is itsy bitsy spider and wheels on the bus). She loves when I put a blanket on her head and ask "Savannah, where are you!?" and they say "there you are!!" when she pulls it off. Then I'll put it on my head and she loves to pull it off! She loves when we play together.
She wants to crawl so bad!! She tries so hard. She can pull herself from her bottom to her tummy, and does it all the time. But then she can't move on her tummy so she gets upset. She can move backwards, but hasn't been as much lately - she's focused on learning to crawl forward. She is getting close. She got up on her knees the other day a couple of times.
She still is our star sleeper. She has a deep respect and love for sleep - which she comes by honestly. Trevor and I both really, really love our sleep.
She eats like a pro. She feeds herself completely. We usually have scrambled eggs in the morning and blueberries - all of which she eats herself. This month was a big milestone in that I started feeding the twins 3 meals a day. They LOVE it! They love eating. Savannah's favorite food is definitely blueberries. She will eat 20 blueberries for breakfast sometimes. She also loves cheese. It's so fun to watch her feed herself. She is amazing. I love when she only gets the food part way in, and uses her finger to push it in further.
No more teeth yet.
She is signing "milk" while she drinks her milk. After she eats solids, she still wants her bottle. This girl loves her milk. When she is done eating, she will start to get fussy and will move her hands like she's trying to sign "milk".
She is very sweet and calm. She does sometimes get super hyper, and slam her hands down on her tray which is so funny. But mostly, she is just calm and sweet. She loves to play with toys. She will get super excited about something, and she clenches her fists and straitens out her arms and it's so funny!
She is so hard to change her diaper! She scoots away on her back, and rolls over. She is seriously so hard. I think it would be easier to rope a steer than change this crazy girls diaper!!
She brings so much joy to our home. Her sweet smile just brings so much joy and happiness.
Oliver
This boy is always on the go!!! He moves all day long. I can't even keep up with him. He is an awesome crawler. He started out pulling himself - using his arms and not moving his legs. Then he started moving his legs a little. He can move so quickly that way! He has recently started to actually crawl on his knees occasionally. The first time he did it was at great grandma and grandpa Orr's house. They have textured concrete by the pool - and he hates it. He won't drag himself on it (I don't blame him - that would hurt) so he started out getting on his knees because of the texture, and he's figuring it out. If he isn't in a hurry, he will crawl. But if he wants to get somewhere fast he will pull himself since he's still better at it.
He really is all over. In the course of a couple of hours, he had crawled to the island and tried to pull stuff out. Then he crawled to the entertainment center and crawled inside and pulled everything out. Then he crawled to the kitchen table, found my diaper bag and pulled his favorite toy out of it (a plastic shovel). Then he pulled my bag around the kitchen. Then he crawled around the island, to the french doors, and pulled the drapes and rod on his head. He was like this every day at the beginning of the month.
But now... now he can pull himself up on furniture and walk around furniture. He can go from object to object and move around really well. When we hold his hands, he walks like a pro. Since learning to walk he doesn't crawl and get into things nearly as often. He just wants to stand up on things.
Who would have thought our little 3 pounder would be nearly walking at 9 months old!? He's crazy! We are so proud of him and how quickly he is learning and taking off.
I think he's going to get more teeth, because he has been so clingy and needy and refusing to sleep again. He will go all day without napping. He has to be able to see me or he cries. He wants me to hold him all day - but he also wants to crawl, explore and climb. So he just tries to climb up me, on me... he uses me as a jungle gym. He follows me around wherever I go. It's pretty funny. Whenever I stop he pulls himself up on my legs. When he's sad - he just crawls through the house after me crying and grabs my legs.
He won't go to sleep. The put him down with a bottle trick is no longer working. The only way lately to get him to sleep is to rock him to sleep (which isn't easy) and if you put him down he wakes up. On days I lose it with him or am just trying to get him to learn to self soothe, I will let him cry to fall asleep for naps. He will scream bloody murder for over an hour, standing in his crib just screaming without sitting down or stopping. I cave 99% of the time and he doesn't get a nap.
He has the sweetest little smile. I'm pretty sure this clingy, not sleeping behavior is related to teething. He went through a couple of months of this type of behavior before he got his lower two teeth. After they popped, he went back to being our sweet good dude. So when he isn't in his sad behavior, he is so dang sweet. He is cuddly and loves to be held. He loves to be close to us.
Happy 10 months, twinkies!!
