Britt's Gratitudinal

In honor of Thanksgiving, I'm going to write at least one thing I am thankful for every day this November. I'll just update this post, so I have them all together. I'm trying to write things that are not obvious - big things. I'm trying to look for the little things that add to my life - that I don't normally think about, or thank God for.

November 1

I am thankful for Soft Sounds of Sunday. I know that sounds retarded, but truly I am. Every Sunday I get out of bed and turn it on, and leave it on all day until bedtime. For some reason, the music they play is way better than any of my CD's. I'll leave it on no matter what I'm doing - including watching a movie. I don't want to miss a moment. I just turn down the volume. I just love that I'm listening to Church music on the radio. I will say at least 5 times throughout the day on Sunday, every Sunday, "I love Soft Sounds of Sunday!" And smile really big, and do some type of weird shoulder shake and/or dance.

I LOVE SOFT SOUNDS OF SUNDAY!

November 2

I am thankful for daylight savings! It was actually light when I left for work this morning!! It was sooo nice!

I am thankful for earplugs. So thankful!

November 3

I am grateful for free food. It means I don't have to cook! Or spend money.

I am grateful for fruit.

Today, the free food came in the form of fruit. YUUUMMM....

November 4

Today I am thankful for the singles’ lunch we had at work. There ARE single people working in the Great and Spacious Building! (Some people refer to the huge ICS building, the Riverton Office Building, as the Great and Spacious Building - it has a lot to do with the fact that we are so isolated from Church Headquarters. And it is just a massive building).

We ate, talked, laughed, and simply enjoyed knowing that for maybe the first time since moving in, we are not alone in the plight of the single LDS Church employee!

I am thankful for my curly hair. I didn’t do anything to it today, left the house with it dripping wet, and have gotten so many compliments. Makes me ohhhh-so-happy!

I am thankful that my office is right next to the bathroom. Some people are a whole building away from it. Anyone who knows me well will understand just why this is something I am truly thankful for.

Also, I am thankful that I wasn't the one who broke the elevators today. For a good hour I thought it was my fault, and I am pleased to announce it was not me!

November 5

I am thankful for Temples! I am thankful that I live by so many! I am thankful for the cute old couples in the temple who are so friendly and nice.

I am thankful that Becki bought me Cafe Rio for dinner yesterday. Pulled pork salad... HOLY MOLY, BABY! I am also thankful for Cafe Rio, just in general.

One more thing: I'm thankful for the Joesph Smith movie. Oh... and Temple Square. And the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, and their big screened movie theater. And the missionaries who help you find the Joseph Smith Memorial Building when you can't figure out which path goes around the temple and which one ends in a brick wall. And the Christus in the Visitor's Center. I am so thankful for that... it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

November 6

I am thankful for my carpool. At first I was hesitant, but it has come to be a huge blessing. Living without family around, it can sometimes be lonely. My car pool has become a little family. We wait for each other at the end of the day, and that's nice. They know all the happenings of my life. Did I get budgets done like I had planned? How did the early meeting go? Did you run into the tight pants guy today? What are you up to tonight?

It’s just nice.

We have routines down too, and I love that. Every morning we listen to the scriptures and/or talks. Brittany and I put on our make-up while Jason drives.

On the way home we fight over music and tease Jason. I am so thankful for these people in my life and the small void in my single life they fill.

I’m thankful for the extra large can of Lysol that kills 99.9% of germs.

I’m thankful for whiteboards. For any additional information, ask Camree. She’ll tell you.

November 7

I am thankful for fall! Today is the most beautiful day. It's warm, sunny and the leaves are incredible.

I am thankful for good friends. I have some pretty awesome friends.

I am thankful for answers to prayers.

November 8

I am thankful for church! I am thankful I have the opportunity to go to church every week, and for the things I learn. I am thankful that Jeni told Gloria about the temple prep class, and Gloria told me, and told me to come with her.

I am thankful for my cowboy boots. I would wear them every day if I could.

I am thankful for the movie Anne of Green Gables. Also, for the movie Crocodile Dundee.

I'm thankful for a fabulous weekend. I'm thankful for a long, great talk and walk with a fabulous friend on a beautiful day.

I'm thankful for late-night chats with wonderful people in the Hobbit Hole (HA HA).

I'm thankful for family that doesn't give up on me, even when they have every reason to.

November 9

Today i'm thankful for Rusk's silk searum. It makes my hair feel like silk. Serioulsy. I'm not kidding. It's the most wonderful thing ever. Sadly, they've stopped making it. I can't fathom why. You can still find it on Amazon, though! :)

I'm thankful for my cherry dress and my pearl headband.

I'm VERY thankful for my office-mate, Julie. She is so sweet and I love sharing an office with her. I would be so sad and lonely in an office by myself. She listens to my complaints, my bad date stories, my bad work stories, and is so great. I just finished venting to her, and it made me feel better. I am super duper grateful to be sharing an office with her.

ALSO - I'm just throwing this out there - I am thankful for Josh Groban. Mostly for his music more than for him specifially as a person. So She Dances is one of my favorite songs ever.

November 10

I'm thankful for the scriptures and the effect they have on me. I woke up in a bad mood and by 8am had a serious of very frusterating events. I listened to the Book of Mormon on the way to work, and was in a MUCH better mood.

I'm thankful for kneaders and their turkey avacado sandwich.

I'm thankful for ice skating. And not falling.

November 11

I am grateful that Julie ordered food for me when I asked her to, for a meeting I forgot to order food for. Everyone applauded when I walked in with the goodies - and I was SO thankful for her saving my life.

I am thankful for not getting stuck in the elevator shaft once this week.

I am thankful for pizza and good discounts.

I am thankful for Becki's birthday.

I'm thankful the cookie that Julie put on my desk didn't even look good.

November 12

I am thankful for showers and yummy smelling bath soap and razors! This morning I have silky smooth legs, i assure you.

I'm thankful for MY CAR! Flipper the Dolphin Car, you and I, my friend, make a great team.

I am thankful for Macaroni grill.

I am thankful for capers and artichokes and asparagus.

I am thankful for my super run/talk with April last night.

I'm still thankful for Becki's birthday.

I'm thankful for my pretty black lace top.

I could go on and on and on and on and on on on on on on..... but i'll leave it at that. Country music, you make my heart sing. We are two of a kind. You get me through the work day with a smile on my face and a dance in my heart.

November 16

I am thankful for the comprehensive knowledge I have regarding the internal complexities of my dear friend RICO.

I am thankful my card printing project went miraculously smoothly. I'm awesome. I'm thankful for that, too.

I am thankful for Pandora. Have I already said that? I am also thankful for the playlist on my blog, which I listen to when I've maxed my free usage of said Pandora.

November 17

I am thankful for shuffleboard. I am thankful that for 23 years, I have been blessed with extreme shuffleboard skills, and yet had not the slightest idea until.. today! I am thankful I didn't make my team lose at shuffleboard. How embarrassing that would be!

I am thankful I beat the lady next to me at bowling. It was only 2 points, but I am thankful for those 2 points.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO thankful for my GPS! My GPS saves my life more than I could EVER explain, express or expound on. When all the world turns against me, my GPS is there to guide me back to safety. I am thankful to the Lord for creating GPS's, and for my mom and dad for getting me a GPS for my birthday, when my old one died and I was lost all the time.

I am thankful for Grainfirst crackers. They are so good, it should be illegal. But it's not, don't worry.

I am thankful for cashews.

I am thankful for Sam's Choice Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels. Yumm....

• Growing up with one mom and dad, where we had enough to eat and a safe place to live

November 22

I am grateful for:

3 hour church! Weird, maybe. But how do you get enough in 1 hour!?

I am grateful for Michael Buble's remakes of Sinatra's songs.

I am grateful for laughing all the way to work this morning. I am thankful for what was making me laugh all the way to work this morning. Namely, Jason singing with Michael Buble at the top of his lungs, complete with arm movements.

I am grateful for the Articles of Faith.

Oh baby, I am thankful for a lot today.

I am thankful it is ALMOST Thanksgiving! I am thankful I have lots of places I can go. It would be so sad not to spend the holiday with loved ones.

I am thankful I get to see Chris tomorrow. It's been years.

I am thankful for that one weekend trip we took to Twin, and we watched The Office all night. Seriously, one of the best weekends of my life.

I am thankful for my amazing friends...

I am thankful for a wonderful time last night with wonderful people.

I am thankful for Thanksgiving break! YYEEESSS!!!

I am thankful I got to watch TV and relax! May sound lame, but I live a hectic life! I am SO thankful for the relaxing and the PJ's and the TV.

I am thankful, once again, for sleeping in. Feels so nice. I'm thankful for a safe drive home, and good roads.

November 30

Today is the last day of November. Writing what I am grateufl for every day has been such a blessing in my life. It has shown me just how much I have to be grateful for, and how much the Lord does bless me every day.

Today, on my last post, I am grateful for:

• General Conference
• Modern technology that makes General Conference available for me to listen to/read any time I so desire.
• Modern day prophets. I am so blessed every time I listen to their words.
• Service.
• Working for the Church.
• Being born in a home where my parents believe in God, and instilled that belief in me.
• Hope.
• My ability to use faith to obtain everything and anything I so desire.
• New clothes
• My family
• My baby sister, Bob. All the funny things she says/does.
• Knowing that God does exist, and that He knows and loves ME. He wants me to be happy, and will always help me obtain it.
• The Atonement and my knowkedge of it. My ablitity to use it in my life, and to learn more about it.
